We went in for a regular appointment yesterday and was rushed to the hospital for a stress test. My placenta is aging too fast and Dr. Adam compared it to a clogged filter. We thought we would do the stress test and be able to leave...WRONG.
I was given a room on the L&D floor because the other place they wanted to put me was full. I have been hooked on monitors since last night. In L&D I was having contractions every 3 - 10 minutes so they gave me a shot to try to stop them but it didn't work. They gave me a second shot and that seems to have stopped them. I am now on a pill I take every 4 hours to keep the contractions away. Brasen's heart rate also dropped several times last night.
Dr. Adam came in an hour ago and said I am here for the long haul. We are buying time so that we don't take him too soon but with a failing placenta we don't want to wait too long either.
I am so thankful that I go to a doctor who does an ultrasound at every visit.
Brasen weighed 2 pounds 7 ounces yesterday.
