Week 19 and we have so much to be thankful for. There is no better holiday to be celebrating right now than Thanksgiving; and having Christmas just around the corner is even better. TJ pointed out this morning that this will be the last holiday season with just the two of us...it's so hard to believe.I guess I was unaware of all the people who have been praying for us over the past year and a half until this morning in church when one of the members came up to us with tears in her eyes after she realized I was pregnant. This lady has twin grandsons who were born from IVF and it was her husband and son who first spoke with me about the possibility of trying IVF instead of jumping straight to adoption. She started praying for us on the day we had that conversation and I'm certain she's part of the reason we are where we are right now. I love our small church.
Brasen seemed to enjoy church this morning. I haven't felt him moving much over the past week, but when the praise band started this morning he became very active.
Week 19 - Brasen is the size of a Mango
Brasen's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. He probably weighs about 8 1/2 ounces. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
