Week 22

From here on out I will only have a fruit picture to post each month instead of weekly like I have been. For the last 21 weeks, I have enjoyed looking forward to the next week to see how much Brasen has grown so I am sort of disappointed that I won't have that comparison anymore. I guess I should look on the bright side and think of it as meaning that I am getting closer to the end of this pregnancy and closer to meeting my baby boy.

Month 5 - Brasen is the size of a Papaya

By week 22, Brasen's pancreas, a key player in hormone production, is developing steadily. His skin may appear wrinkled at this point, but in the coming weeks, he will be gaining enough weight to fill it out.
His eyes have developed, but the irises still lack color. Even though his irises will have color by the time he is born (usually blue), we won't know his permanent eye color until he is at least 9 months old.

Watch what you say around my baby, Brasen is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. His nipples are starting to sprout and his little face is fully formed. Brasen is starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day.

Earlier last week he was most active while I was teaching my 1st - 4th period classes. He would finally settle down around lunch and sleep until I got home in the evening. I think he is finally getting use to the noise and is able to sleep through the activities going on in the room.

Lookin' Good!
I enjoyed the "fruit" comparisons, too! Maybe you could just make some up... on your quest to the "watermelon" stage!

Love the updates!
Think about you often!!!
